Music
Outside of the classroom our students are able to participate in music camps, assemblies and musical direction for our school productions.
Performing Arts and Drama
Our students have access to first class facilities in our new Performing Arts centre. A space for drama workshops, musical theatre and dance studies and two productions each year.
Sports
With a strong tradition of sporting stars our students represent Galen in the School Sports Victoria and national Sports Championships events throughout the year.
Liverpool International Football Club Programme
Exclusive to Galen is ‘Learning the Liverpool Way ’The subject places each student at the heart of development, covering technical, tactical, physical, mental, and social considerations as part of the Liverpool FC Development Model.
VEX robotics
Our STEM programs, among the region’s finest, include the renowned Galen VEX Robotics Program. Students of all levels team up to design, build, and program robots for VEX Robotics Competitions. Enthusiastic staff inspire their curiosity, paving the way for a future immersed in STEM. Our team won 2020 VEX Worlds Community Award and also represented Aust at VEX Worlds 2018 & 2019
Immersions
School retreats and immersion experiences are an integral part of the life-long faith formation of young people and form part of the distinctive character of Catholic schools. They recognise the individuality and dignity of each student by fostering their unique potential and spirituality.
Our students are able to experience immersions including spending twelve days in Timor Lesté visiting schools that we have fundraised for in Abafala and Quelicai, as well as working with the Marist Brothers in as they prepare to re-build a school in Kulugia
Timor Leste Immersion and Fundraiser
The college is currently fundraising for the 2025 Immersion with its annual Wine & Beer Drive. All funds raised are donated straight to the aforementioned communities. Orders close 28th October
Northern Territory to visit the Santa Teresa (Ltyentye Apurte - pronounced “la ginger porta) Aboriginal community. Students travel to this remote community and lend a hand and learn all they can to connect and engage over the course of weeks visit.
As part of their language learning journey our VCE Italian students have the opportunity to travel and immerse themselves in Italian culture. Students are paired up with Italian families for the full immersion experience and spend their Australia Summer holidays in the European winter!
